All,

In the early 1000 hour (EDT) two 121st FS DC ANG F-16s (Brave 1 flight) were
scrambled against an unidentified target. I caught then as they departed
Andrews (348.725) and checked in with Huntress (228.9) asking for vectoring
information. They were switched to a discrete freq (260.9) where they
relayed target information to Huntress.

About two minutes after scrambling the F-16s were in visual contact with the
target, identified as a Cessna-172 type aircraft, white in color with organge
markings, registration N52410. Both F-16s, slowed down and continued to
shadow the Cessna. There were no indications from my monitoring that the
Cessna was aware of the F-16s. After identifying the target for Huntress, the
F-16s were released to a random CAP over the DC area in the block 20-23,000
ft.

In the mid-1000 hour, Brave flight was again scrambled from their CAP
positions to check out another small aircraft that has violated the TFR. in a
couple of minutes, Brave 1 reported to Huntress (260.9) that he had radar
acquistion of the target at an altitude of 2,000 ft. After trailing the
target for about a minute, brave 1 reported to Huntress that the target had
just departed the TFR. Brave 1 was called off by Huntress and returned to his
CAP position.

Brave flight used their Victor 1 SOF freq (139.9) as an air A-A, along with
their usual A-A Victor 5 (127.275).
