[Scan-DC] disappointing

Mike,
hope i'm not busting your bubble,
this has been done before with the software and scanner you mentioned, and
was going very good, but was stopped for OBVIOUS reasons.
Really how many even own a 245, or even want to program through a computer?
I bet you'll find that most that go this route really don't have the
patience to sit and manually learn how to program.
If you can get this going I may be willing to contribute some files.
I really don't think the 'data file's' are needed, the documentation would
be enough.
For example in PDF format;

It's very simple to create files from things like this on your own time.
