My personal opinion is that cell phones and cell phone services
represent far larger sums of dollars than cordless phones. Simply
put, there is much more money to be made by more people and
corporations in the cell phone business than in the cordless phone
business. There are more "players" in the cell phone arena than in
the cordless phone field. That means more folks looking out for
their individual, as well as collective interests. Not to mention
the fact that cell phones are a virtual icon of the well-heeled
establishment, which incorporates the entire
telecomminications industry, and are considered a valuable tool in
the conducting of business, and when rich folks who want to protect
their dollars speak, the government listens.
