So, the helicopter.

FOX5 reports "routine radiation testing" by DOE. Kind of stuff that
takes place all over the country. Normal--nothing to get excited
about. I've even found some information from Sandia about this
process, saying it takes place (and has taken place) for years.

Anyway, it's still kind of suspect don't you think. I think they
were out yesterday setting a "baseline" of radiation, i.e. what is
normal for a hot Summer day such that if they have to go in for real
say in the next week, they'll have a set of data (control group) that
they can use to compare against. That makes sense to me. Anyone
else heard anything?

I found some NEST frequencies listed off the net (from some whacky
sites). Have had them on a scanner all day but only get a bit of
static every now and then and an automated Morse Code identifier
which I couldn't copy.

>Fox news tonight reported it was a DOE helo doing routine "radiation
>mapping". I work at 17th and Pennsylvania on the top floor (13th floor of a
>commercial property) with an unobstructed view of the mall, Capitol,
>Pentagon, etc. It seemed like I could reach up and grab a handful of skid
>it was so low. We watched it do a methodical east-west pattern that stepped
