As a working cop (on Fort Detrick) I can tell you that after dark, I am
always "on the lookout" for Probable Cause to make a stop, looking for
people DWI.  PC can be anything, as long as its a violation.  Typically,
I'll make the stop, check for required information (DL, Registration, Proof
of Insurance) and if all checks OK, let the violater go with a verbal
warning if they are cooperative and don't "talk" themselves into the
original violation.  I make alot of stops, but only write tickets on the
most egregious violators.  My guess is that is what you encountered.
To keep this scan related, there is still no more word on when we will be
getting new radios, what the system will be, or anything else.
I did discover that the Military Police at "Site R" are still using military
issue radios, not motorola gear.  The radios are supposedly encrypted, but I
don't know the freq's, so I can't verify that for sure.
