This is from "the horses mouth", the Provost Marshal of Fort Detrick.  Yet another digital (?) system...This message was in response to a request for more radios for our department.

Just a note able our radio shortage.  In FY03 all Motorola radios army wide are being switch to a digital wideband system.  All our radios are to be replaced....Contracting is well aware of the radio replacement action and will not approve the action to buy a new radio that will be obsolete in a year.  .....
