This was the Radio Monitors of Maryland aka RMM, which published a
monthly newsletter, Radio Monitors Newsletter in Maryland, or RMNM. The
whole thing started as the newsletter, and grew into a club. I was a
member when it shut down. I'm talking maybe ten years ago.
Ron Bruckman was the leader of the group, and the force behind it.
As mentioned in my earlier post, Ron seemed to drop off the face of the
earth some years ago. When he disappeared, the club died with him. The
website was on a free host somewhere, and after a certain number of years
of no updates and no responses to email, the host probably killed the
site as a dead issue, and rightfully so.
The site was decent, but had not been touched in perhaps 8-10 years and
was badly outdated.
The site and club are dead.
The name and concept probably is free for anyone who would have the
energy and time to resurrect it. I do not, but would try to participate
in any activity someone else tried to organize.
RMM was a lot of fun while it was around, but it took a significant
portion of Ron's life and a certain amount of expense to admininstrate
it.
I'd like to see the group rise, like a phoenix, from the ashes.
It would need a powerful force at the helm to pull it off.
