I just finished reading a short item in Government Computer News, which 
follows.

                  FCC Wants to Clear the Air in 800-MHz Band 

     The FCC has issued a best practices guide for handling the growing 
interference problems in the 800-MHz band shared by public-safety agencies 
and commercial mobile radio services.
     The guide addresses both existing and planned systems.
     The FCC suspects the problem has several causes, including increased use 
of handheld devices by all 800-MHz users, recent expansion of commercial 
services, more intensive frequency reuse and the shift to digital technology.
