I heard both of you guys on 160 this weekend. Interesting conditions for this time of year on that band.
There were a number of BY's on yesterday, and actually more than I heard today yet I did not get any of them, nor did very many from NA work them. They are definitely deaf. Lots of noise they have to deal with. I heard you Wes work the By however.
This morning the RA0 was stronger here than yesterday with the peak of the JAs and Him at around 600 local. The RA0 was just about S-9 for a while.
I ended up with 248 Q 59 mults and 11 countries. There was more noise this morning than yesterday, where ever that was coming from. It was a S&P for me. NO EU no AF and only one SA.

I, too, was surprised at how many stations could not copy a 1200-watt signal at 18 wpm when they were running 25 wpm and bumping my S-meter with 18 dB of attenuation. I slowed to 16 wpm to get one DX contact, but I got it. Oh well, this contest is in the books. No new DX countries this time. I put in for my 160 WAS and 6-meter VUCC, so I need to visit Michaels to get a couple more cheap frames. Carl KB7AZ Sent from my HAL 9000

Yesterday AM I worked 6 JAs and one BY. There was another BY on this morning with a decent signal but he was deaf. Lotsa callers but I never heard him answer anyone. It's funny that even without an RX antenna (that everyone says is necessary) I still hear better than I get out on topband.Sometimes I think of QRO, but I only got on this band to make 9-band DXCC and I'm at 144 confirmed. At my age I should be cutting back, not building a better station :-)WesOn 1/30/2022 11:25 AM, Carl Foster wrote:> Hi Wes,Thanks for the DX spot, but no luck. I heard you on 160 this morning trying to work a JA station. The JA signals were unusually weak this time. I didn't work any in this 160 contest, but have in the past. Jim is calling 3X2021 now.
