I remember seeing on at a local's house, but I don't remember who's. Donny had
mostly, if not exclusively, Collins stuff.
He wound up with three of my old radios, a 75A-1, 75A-4 and a KWM-1. He once
brought the latter to a club meeting in a grocery sack and said there would be a
(verbal) quiz to guess what it was. When he described it I immediately
identified it. He was shocked, then he took it out and happened to open the
cover. That's when I said, I not only know what it is, but that one used to be
mine. He wondered how I knew. I said because I installed bracket with two VR
tubes on the lid used to regulate the screen voltage on the finals. He said
that the workmanship was so good he though it was factory. He said the same
about the 75A-4 that I modded the RF amplifier on.

A friend of mine in Arkansas had (has?) one. Locally, Donnie Anderson may have had one of those at some point. I know he had a couple of KW-1’s at one point, and those rascals are really expensive on the used market. Donnie paid something like $20K for one of those, and that was 20 years ago or so! Donnie’s garage was like walking through a time warp! He had one of just about everything stacked up on one side of his garage or the other!
