Cathy Hufault, author of “Death Clouds on Mt. Baldy-Tucson’s Lost Tragedy” will discuss her new book with a dramatic historic photo slide presentation.

Re-live with the author the haunting historical tale of the largest search and rescue operation in Arizona history, all for three boys lost in a horrific unpredicted blizzard that, in 1958 brought sub-zero temperatures and blanketed the Santa Rita Mountains with a record three to seven feet of snow.

Learn about the amazing stories of survival and courage, true grit, and anguish on the trail as men struggle through arm-pit deep snow, helicopters hover at dangerous altitudes, and cowboys urge their horses through almost impossible feats. Cathy, a sister of one of the survivors and former Oro Valley mayor, interviewed over 100 people while researching her book; unraveling the hidden mysteries behind the tragedy.
