You weren't the only one. Last week a lightning strike exploded a 30'
saguaro that was about 20 yards away from the house. No damage to
antennas or electronics, so all of the lightning arrestors and surge
protectors worked as designed. All that remains of the cactus is a 6'
scorched stump and a pile of arm and trunk pieces around its base. A
closer look revealed that every needle it had was burned off of its
skin. Scarey stuff.
