[SADXA] Deceptive Consumer Pricing at Elliott Electric Supply...

I have bought items from Elliott Electronics since before I received
my Amateur Radio licence in '47, when "Hap" Elliott owned and ran it.
Either I've been naive or unobservant, but I don't believe that I've
ever experienced what was just described. The sales personnel have
been courteous and usually quite knowledgeable and
helpful. Certainly their prices are often uncompetitive with what
you can find on an Internet site or in a major distributor's catalog,
however you need to factor in immediate availability and local sales
tax, versus a delayed delivery and shipping costs and sometimes also
local sales tax. Amazon is a current example.
Their present sales force does change often, I don't imagine that
their salaries are overly generous. The lady who has been behind the
counter, it seems forever, is especially helpful, friendly and
knowledgeable as well as being quite bilingual. This a very positive
attribute, which a high percentage of their sales personnel are
capable. This must present a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, for
their customers that are our neighbors from across the border.
I have disgustedly witnessed the attitudes of some sales personnel.
of large department stores in Tucson, who have obviously been raised
in Hispanic and probably bilingual homes, who refuse to acknowledge
questions asked in Spanish, by visiting Mexican customers. At times
with my very limited Spanglish, I've been somewhat successful in interceding.
