Jerry,

Most likely that radiation is coming back through the power supply line cord, try running it  through a toroid or snap on filter. That might solve your problem.

  Most likely its a switching power supply. Just run clean power from a linear 
  power supply and it should be fine.

  For your interest I just found the source of a couple of birdies that I have 
  been listening to for years on 160 and who knows where else. Come to find out 
  they were coming from the power supply for one of my HP printers in the ham 
  shack. This one happened to have a in-line switching supply that put two birdies 
  on 160 and I would imagine other bands that had a little higher noise level and 
  were less noticeable.

  In any event if you are having problems with birdies on the band you might check 
  the printer supply. Unplugging it is the fix. Next step throw it away :-)
