KC0LL's tower isn't over 100 feet, so it shouldn't have required a special permit.

I have not heard of anyone who has talked to them and gotten an intelligent
answer. I have heard they are going with the "national code" what ever that
is. I do know of a ham/Civil PE engineer and maybe I will call him and see
what he can tell me about the code and towers. Or is that structures?

Maybe I can look into inviting David, KC0LL, and see, if nothing else, he
will come and tell his story, maybe with pictures like on his website.

I have been through this process and what it took was a zone permit, which
says its ok to have a tower in that area at a certain height, and , a permit
for the structure. The code defines what wind velocity the tower has to
withstand, with safety factor. The tower people do structure analysis for
each of their tower and its available when you buy a tower. Most cities
counties require the calculations to be stamped by a Civil PE licensed in
the state you put the tower up.

You also have to have the installation inspected at various steps along the
way to show you are meeting the construction instructions. That includes the
construction of the REBAR cage that goes in the tower base. Also the type of
concrete you use, if called out by the installation instructions.

Its not that bad if you know what hymnal you are singing from. That seems
to be the unknown in Pima.
