Members,

This E-mail to is update the club on the 2M Repeater, due to things going on we are losing the current 2M site however I have possibly secured a new site on a tower location in Somerset count the exact tower cannot be named at this moment. It Is a government site as such we must comply with the requirements set forth and use the vendor they require. We would need to use the Icom radio, and run 25W with no preamps or amps. However, we will be at RX 940 AMSL & TX 880 AMSL fed with 1-5/8 hardline we will have a 2.5 dBd gain on the system. We will be on backup power as well. Cabling required will cost about $2500.00, the expansion channels needed is $2000.00, outdoor weather proof climate controlled cabinet $3000.00 and the install of power and equipment in to the state system. With that said I would say 8-10 thousand total. This is a good site and has some ham state police and federal equipment. Site access will be limited and this is pending state police approval. After this initial outlay of funds our costs at this location our financial obligation will be for the required insurance only. This really is our best choice without it we will be back off the air. We need the approval for the money ASAP so that we can start the approval process with the state. If possible could we take an email/electronic vote on this so that we can expedite getting our approval from the state.
