Members,
Today we had a tower climb to start fixing the issues that have arisen on
the tower. we also had a small work party to get the system up and running
and tie up some lose ends from the move.
First the climb,
We now have all antennas on the tower showing a near flat SWR. we replaced
connectors as well as cut some bad hard line out. we took some time to
chose a tower climber this time around and i am glad we did. we used warren
out of east Brunswick and his crew. they showed up at 8 am and by 815 we
had to men on the tower working to figure out what was going on. it turns
out the last climber was sub par and had lose connectors and poor weather
proofing allowing water in some of the hard line and also kinked some spots
pulling the hard line up. this was all fixed and the arm was placed on the
440 its arm this was done first due to the fact the hard line was pinched
in the antenna mount and the antenna had to be loosed to fix that issue.
the 2M antenna is still on the tower leg and will require a 2ed climb it
took all of 10 hours on the tower today to trouble shoot and fix all the
issues. we also had Cully from the PWA on the ground sweeping all the
lines every time they were touched to make sure they were clean and this
was proven to be needed as the 440 connector was acting up and had to be
reterminated
on the ground
the 440 repeater was hooked up with all new jumpers the 2M amp had new fans
installed and will be in service soon just waiting on a few more parts to
protect it from any issues. the 900 repeater was hooked up and the new
computer was installed and the temporary one removed
Current status
2M up and running at mid power aprx. 20 W
440 up and running mid power A[rox 20 W on DMR Fusion and P25 some
adjustments are still being made. DMR is on brandmister network for those
interested.
900 up and running connected to 27200
a big thank you to all who took the time to make this happen it may not
sound like a lot but it was a long day and a lot of work done
