[RVRC] ham radio’s public enemy #1

Incredible as it might seem, ham radio’s public enemy #1, just days out of the klink, somehow has found a way back onto our NY-area repeaters.

He uses a variety of calls: W2BBW (which, coincidentally, is a legitimate call belonging to Barry Watkins of LI City, Qns — and Danny’s alter ego, as among his cronies he is known as “Barry”) — and now WB2EDB, which is non-existent.

But the MO is the same: Gravely voice, who usually tells you is QTH is Queens generically, or Flushing, Astoria, Long Island City or “near LaGuardia Airport” more specifically.

If you hear this guy on the air, don’t engage him. Continue your QSO with other authorized hams — and simply make believe you don’t hear him. His terminal phrase, “Roge-O,” is his dead giveaway.

Without question, his cojones are the size of watermelons, given that he is a three-time felon, caught red-handed transmitting illegally on police frequencies…having had most of his gear already confiscated, and with an FCC Notice of Unlicensed Operation literally hot out of his mailbox.

Simply unreal.
