To the RVRC President, KB2VRM, the Membership Committee Chair, WB2BEW and the members of RVRC

I have spoken directly to Lee Lensky, K2EEI, regarding the concerns that have been expressed regarding the process by which his membership application ballot was presented to the RVRC membership after our last meeting.  

Lee has expressed his wishes to follow all necessary protocols and for that reason he has requested that the membership ballot be retracted from further consideration until after a second reading of his application at a full RVRC business meeting as required by the club by-laws

On a personal note, as one of the new member's sponsors, I am requesting that the membership at large treat K2EEI in the same manner as they would wish to be treated on the air and at any club events going forward.  This protocol error was not intended to give K2EEI and special privilege or preferred treatment.  It was my intent when making the motion to set the 2 reading rule aside that the club would gain a new member is an efficient and timely manner without extending the waiting period due to the unfortunate cancellation of the July meeting. 

Since this membership ballot has been effectively deemed as 'out of order' according to the by-laws, the potential for a three month delay required to reapply and re-ballot for 'failing to receive sufficient votes for membership' should not apply.  

I have assured Lee that this delay is not due to any question about his application but only a protocol error related to the by-laws and voting procedures.

Please reinstate Lee Lensky, K2EEI as a pending new regular member with one reading completed
