The USPS has unveiled the new “Global Forever” stamp to be used for 
international postage as of 1/27/2013.

This stamp will cost $1.10 and can be used “forever” for international 1 
oz. mailings regardless of future rate changes.

It can be pre-ordered now on the USPS website. You cannot buy it 
before the rate change for $1.05.

One new feature that I don’t think was previously disclosed: Although 
the rate to Canada and Mexico will go to $1.10 on Jan. 27, along with the rate 
to other countries,
the new Global Forever stamp can be used to send 2 oz. of mail to Canada, 
at least until the next rate change. It is implied, but not specifically 
stated, that the 2 oz. deal
is reserved for use with the new stamp, and can’t be done with $1.10 of 
regular postage. I’m sure this will be clarified in the weeks to 
come.
