The IARU is requesting all amateur radio operators to allow CLEAR FREQUENCIES in regard to the Haiti Incident:

IARU Region 2 Requests Frequencies Be Kept Clear After Massive Earthquake Strikes Haiti
On Tuesday, January 12 at 4:53 PM Haiti time (2153 UTC), a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit 10 miles (15 kilometers) west of Port-au-Prince, the island nation's capital. Communications in and out of Haiti have been disrupted. No word has been received as of yet from any of Haitian Amateur Radio operators. The ARRL encourages US amateurs to be aware of the emergency operations on the following frequencies: 14.265 MHz, 7.045 MHz, 7.265 MHz, 3.977 MHz and 3.720 MHz.
Full info is here: http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2010/01/13/11288/?nc=1
Also, please note the following for all NNJ or elsewhere H&W requests, etc:
If you get local requests for how to get information on families, etc (Health and Welfare) in regard to the Haiti incident, please refer the requesters to the SATERN webpage noted here: http://qso.com/satern/emailfrm.htm

Completing and submitting the requested information will get their request into the SATERN system. This is the only way to have that happen, info requests are not being processed over the airwaves.

Also, the Red Cross provides their Safe and Well system for tracking those who can get access to it from a disaster affected area and is searchable by others who want to find family members, etc. More info here: http://www.redcross.org/portal/site/en/menuitem.d8aaecf214c576bf971e4cfe43181aa0/?vgnextoid=d9e51a53f1c37110VgnVCM1000003481a10aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default

Please keep aware of this continuing and still developing situation and also keep those affected, directly and indirectly in your thoughts and prayers.
