I have the feeling more and more ops don't ID because they rely on packet
spots. Why ID when your call has just been spotted on the cluster? This was
noticed in last WW SSB (I was unassisted!).
Personally, I hate it when stations don't ID. If it goes fast, every other 2
QSO's is fine, and when it's REALLY fast maybe every 3 - but rather not.
Very annoying when you're looking for QSO's / mults on the 2nd radio.
Now that I *feel loud* and make a chance of getting through fast, I just try
to work'm and then ask for the call - if it's a dupe that's too bad for
them. Like I had on 40m with 5A7A in WW CW: no ID after 3 QSO's so I called
and worked a dupe...
Sometimes you know / guess who it is by exchange or operating style, but not
always.
CT1BOH's calculation of 'waste of time' is purely hypothetical and
theoretical. He will work more dupes because of people like me and like Mark
says: casual DXers just move on.
Exemple I won't soon forget:

ZD8Z op'ed by N6TJ in ARRL 10m 2002 - average rate 149 over 36hrs and he
ID's after EVERY QSO! That's the standard for me.
I also don't like the 'EE' in stead of 'TU'. I don't know why but 'TU' is
more polite and good for the flow, no?
