[Rover] [VHF] Storage of Gear Question

Reading the initial question and responses brought into focus my need to establish a better "go kit" package now that the Buddipole: system is on the way. A trip to a "big box" home improvement store helped me locate what looks like a good answer: the Stanley "Fat Max" Rolling Workstation. It has several drawers with relocatable dividers for connectors, adapters, small meters, etc plus a top that folds back and can be used as a small work surface. The lower bin is lockable with a padlock (not supplied), pulls out, and is big enough to store my Yaesu FT-897D and 12 VDC power supply. The workstation is on large wheels so it will roll, and has an extendable handle for pulling or pushing. The price tag was $69.95 and the store offers a 6-year over-the-counter replacement exchange should there be any defects. As one package, my whole portable station can be hefted into the mini-van and with the "Buddipole" system bungy-corded to it -- and I am ready to travel. There may even be room for some LMR-400 coax and an extension cord or two.

I don't see this as a "pop-the-top" operation -- but it at least gets it all in one place -- at one time! Not having to drive home to get that vital "whiz-bang" gadget you forgot has to be worth something!
