This might be a shot in the dark but here we go. . .
I am trying to improve my mobile/rover setup for the ability to operate some
DX as the F2 season is coming in slowly and was looking for advice as to
change my very basic setup towards a DX'ing machine for 6 meters as this is
my only band for now.
Looking at a 1/2ton truck a friend has for sale for $1000.00 as it would
also give me a 4WD vehicle for getting to work. It has a commercial metal
flatbed instead of a regular bed, medium size engine (300c.i.d. I-6 Ford), 4
speed manual tranny.
I am just not sure where to start as I want to still be a 3 -5 grid rover
using stop and shoot method, as well as able to go setup on my favorite
mountain for some DX fun in my off hours.
I understand this might have to be a compromise between contesting and
DX'ing (contesting=quantity over quality, DX'ing=quality over quantity) as I
see it.
Any advice would be very very very helpful! ! !
