Forgot what the code is that you enter to make a standard
Racal 6790 tune below 500 kHz.
Thanks,
Ed

I'm going to disagree with Terry just a little. Depending
upon your location and antenna, any receiver you name is
like to be a cacophonous mess below 500KHz. A standard 6790
with that tunes below 500KHz is lots better than no
long-wave receiver at all. Yes, performance degrades with
decreasing frequency. You're not going to do great things
at VLF, like hear SAQ, in Sweden on 17.2KHz, but performance
is reasonable down to 200-300KHz. With a decent antrenna,
you'll hear lots of NDB's. I can hear my local Lowfer
beacon, "TH", 1 watt, 189.36KHz, about 50 miles away just
fine.

If sombody will copy EPROM's for you for a few bucks, it may
be worth it.

Which brings up my question: Have any of you taken a look
at the contents of the EPROM's? Are there date codes and
Rev. numbers? These are likely to be in ASCII. Does anyone
have a handle on which EPROM's have which features? Are any
of these floating around as Intel Hex files?

Regards,
Al
