[R-390] Survey to Consider Moving R-390 Mail List to Groups.IO

Hi Bob,

As the admin for the r-390 mailman.qth.net group for many years now, I personally think the current system is much more obtuse and poorly manageable.  I get dozens of 'bounces' daily that I much read through and the majority are due to conditions beyond my control, most commonly files size/image size limits.  The current system often does not notify the sender that they exceeded limits and instead it gets bounced to me.  Groups.io system is much more transparent and automated.  For an unmoderated group such as ours, the admin on Groups.io does very little daily housekeeping usually.   I am fine staying with the current mailman.qth.net if people would stop asking me what happened to their posts 😊

Seriously, the amount of time for me is really negligible during the course of my day, so I will defer to the majority opinion BUT I have received less than a 10% list member response thus far.

The “more features’ part of the move is indeed an interesting part of the whole decision. 

You get a lot of things that we don’t have now. Oddly enough they seem to want you to pay for some of them :). Based on other groups, this can turn into a bit of a funding vs features spiral.

The hidden gotcha is the admin work needed behind the scenes to keep all those features tuned up and working. There are skills to learn and more time to put in.
