[R-390] Survey to Consider Moving R-390 Mail List to Groups.IO

OK!

Image was sent to the groups and should have been received by all. I just checked the archive and the image does appear as a URL link at the bottom. However, I believe these URL links have a time window at which point they expire (at least they used to). I am checking with Scott to see if this has changed.

Thanks for your patience

I have not restricted images to be attached if they are jpg, bmp or pdf as long as total msg size is < 8Mb. When I last asked Scott KA9FOX who manages all the mail lists, images were being scrubbed from the archives.

Here is a test image of one of my R-390a

Maybe I missed something, but I do not believe this extremely important advantage with moving to .io was well described. We need a “do over”, plesse.

I use DuckDuckGo but this might be happening with anything other then ASCII since Mailman is quite old, it was released in 1999. I can defeat the formatting issue by doing a double line return but I often forget that I'm posting to a Mailman server.

While 90% were favorable to moving to Groups.IO, many of these replies sounded like it made no difference if we stayed or moved. Given the very small overall turnout, I do not feel comfortable taking this decision, so the mail server will remain as is. I hope those who requested the move will understand my actions.
