BarryAre you sure that it is the slug? Could it be the nearby roller is in need of a little, by that I mean tiny, spot of lubrication? It should not hurt anything to adjust the frequency so that the slug rack is in it's lowest position, loosen the two spline screws associated with the slug and allow the it to center itself in the tube and then tighten the spline screws.
