I know I asked this of the net before but it was some time ago and I am on my second computer since then. I got my 390 about 10 years ago and at that time I was able to bring in Ham stations from Nova Scotia to Central America. My Grandson discovered my radio last fall and started to find stations all up and down the full scale of the radio but now it is only picking up a few AM radio stations in the Houston area. I would like to get it back into working condtion for him to use when we are together and eventually go to him when I die. I have about ever digital 390 manual printed for Army, Navy and Airforce, just no knowledge of how to work on electronics. I was an 05H ditty bopper in the U.S. Army Security Agency and they only taught us how to crank the knobs searching for NVA, VC, Chinese and Russian Morse radio stations.
So if there is anyone or any place to get my Boat Anchor checked out and possibly repaired, I would appreciate the help. I hear there is software now that has replaced us old Ditty Boppers.
