suggestion of which you may or may not need - make sure it is long
enough so that the internal steel wire can have enough so one can pull
back the wound wire and fold over the centre. does not need to me much
just enough to make sure the solder/ tinning adheres to both wound and
centre.
I cannot access my notes or the wire I stored....mine had been stressed
by playing. It was used by my guitar player for a few months. IIRC it
was .025 wire bronze or copper wound.
