That HC-10 is just going to cause you frustration and confusion with all those knobs and so on.

With some luck, I still have the HC-10 I used to have, buried in the storage unit I am a long distance from now.

As I remember the thing ran quite hot.  I plan to put a fan on top of mine (small muffin fan with rubber feet on each corner) for a no-modification cooling system.  You might check filament voltage and decide that a line bucking transformer is in order, for that and the R-390A
