[R-390] The Radio machine bitten by the bug

1962 10 yrs old Boy Scout learned the morse code and built a crystal set on an oat meal box then a 1 tube battery power regen for a merit badge. I had now cought RADIO BUG and their was no cure for this bug.My aunt gave me a 1936 RCA upright #813 Magic Brain BC/SW radio for my 11 birthday wow I could now hear the locals Hams on 14mhcs and a wee bit of DX. The local Sears & Robucks had a  Hailecrafters SX110 in the Radio/Tv dept. think I wore the the new off of that display. Most Boys my age went to the local store for soda and base ball cards I was looking for the next  Popular electronics,Electronics ILLustrated to learn more I would wear them out reading them over and over. Got my ticket in 66 and never looked back I now have at lease one of every recever I ever wanted an  many transmiter to go with them. LOL WA5TOO DARRYL
