ARGH!
Some hair dryers pull 1875 watts, too. Too much by itself for a 15 amp breaker. Then the customer can' t figure out why everything on that circuit dies.

I assume the built-in GFCI in the hair dryer is because hair dryers are
often used in bathrooms where there is water and bare skin making it easy
for electrocution accidents to take place. It wouldn't be in the heat
gun because that is more of an industrial tool.
