Hi Group,
In my quest to stock plenty of Carbon Composite resistors for repairs, I have ran across something I don't recall seeing before This, after being involved with electronics for over 40 years.
These are resistors about the size of what most people refer to as half watters. They are painted white and instead of color bands they have color dots that appear to be hand painted. I have 4 or 5 pounds of these and would not use them for any of my receiver work but curious about who made them and when. I am guessing they were made in the 50's, maybe sooner.
Several Internet searches have not helped me ID's these puppies.
The color dots do correspond correctly with standard resistor color bands. The interesting thing is most of them seem to be very close to the correct value, unlike many of the NOS Allan Bradley and others which I often see 20% or more off..
I wonder if these might be low power Dog-bone resistors. Any help would be appreciated.
