I have an R390A that I haven't used for a while. Which I decided to pull
out
and check over.
No reception on any band, although some scary noises when I worked the band
switch.
Background shot/thermal noise when I crank up the RF gain .
Nothing doing when I stick a length of wire into E208, or E209, but signal
apparent at E210.
Bit the bullet and pulled out the RF deck.
All looking good on cursory first glance, but a closer look at the band
switch reveals that wafer S206 is bust in half and the rotor is all mangled
up. Aaaargh.
Anybody any ideas? Are RF decks still available? Don't see any online. I
think I could replace the wafer if I could find a beat up RF deck with at
least the switch OK - just need the electronics, not the gears or the
xtals.
A few hours perusing the Tech.Ref. might help me too.
Thanx
Pete

Look at Fair Radio.
I believe that they still sell RF decks.
