According to web sources, the maximum TN state tax + local surcharge 
is 9.75%.  I just reviewed some past Digi-Key invoices, and they all 
accurately reflect the state tax rate here (5%, no local 
surcharge).  I suspect the state + local surcharge at your mailing 
address matches what Digi-Key charged you.

Back when this thread started (with comparative pricing), I 
considered posting that Digi-Key charges sales tax but figured that 
everyone who buys from them knows.  Sorry I didn't post.
