[R-390] Antenna Trimmer

Before aligning the front end, should the antenna trimmer cap be set to half mesh, then the knob be remounted to the zero numeral? I always get two peaks and they are usually in the numerical scale on the front panel. I am thinking my unit isn't adjusted correctly even though it doesn't seem to matter. Souldn't the other peak be out of the number scale?
