Ron,

There were 20+ contracts given out during WW2 for the M1 Carbines. I 
bought a new Universal M1 around 1974 for $40 at Lionel Leisure City, if 
anyone remembers those toy stores by the Lionel train company. My 
brother and I reloaded back then so I've probably fired 3 or 4 thousand 
rounds in it. I still have it and it is my go-to rifle.

> Just a bit of trivia.... My ex-wife and I were both IBM professionals and we owned two M1 Carbines (.30 cal) both made by IBM. No mixed parts, all IBM. I still have mine and I guess she still has hers......
