[R-390] First radio thread

Doesn't sound funny to me, Cecil. The smell inside a radio, especially when you get the soldering iron out, wow! Triggers all sorts of memories and such!

This will sound strange to the younger guys but a big part of Shortwave 
listening and ham radio in the 60's and 70's for me was the odors.  The 
smell of the hot tubes and other things in the radio's...especially 
transmitters was like a third dimension that is missing in today's 
equipment.  Every now and then an odor from a tube radio will hit a receptor 
somewhere and memories will appear of an early experience.  Funny how that 
works...
