Well, I tossed the o'scope across the generator output, and ran the
generator into a 50-ohm dummy load and the scope showed me the same as what
the generator front panel control settings say I have. I did scrounge til I
found a forgotten "C"-to-PL-259 coax jumper I made when I bought the radio,
and was able to turn down the center pin on one end of a spare
PL259-to-PL259 jumper to work with the N connector on the generator..."N"
and SO239 threads are the same...it will present an impedance bump, but no
worse than a SO239-PL259 combintion.
I'm thinking of acquiring/constructing a 20 dB 50-ohm t-pad. Check my
math--20dB is a power ratio of 100-to-1, same as a voltage ratio of 10:1,
right?
