In the middle 70s I worked for radio shack part time.  I was an engineering
student at UT Austin.  They did well enough that the job paid better than
minimum wage plus 10% commission after an individual sales level was
achieved.  Christmas was always good - $1k+ in the 70s part time.  I don't
know what the corporate makeup is now but, back in the 70s it was mainly a
Baptist group.  The store I worked in was a joint venture(franchised store)
and the fellow who owned it later became one of the VPs.  I think he's dead
now - Jerry McDaniel.
