I was tempted to email Tisha to find out what sort of communication
sites she works on, but instead went surfing for information about
digital TV technical information. I am wondering if getting one of
those converter boxes will let us watch anything interesting off the
air with our "old" analog tv set.
In my searches, I found a web site that gives LOTS of frequency
assignments, including:
-family radio
-cable tv frequencies
-digital tv broadcast channels
-AM clear channel stations
-marine VHF channels
-NOAA weather service
-cellphone bands
-CB channels
the site is:
<http://www.tvtower.com/Commercial%20Television%20Frequencies.html>
I was interested to know that cable frequencies fall below 1000 mc. I
have here an old ECM receiver (the APR-4Y) that tunes to that
frequency, and has 30 mc and video detector outputs. If I feed that
to the R-390A or a tv set, I can listen to all sorts of things.
'Trouble is that we moved away from cable service two years ago.
The site tells that wireless microphones operate on the frequencies of
the new DTV broadcasts, and that trouble is going to appear for
unsuspecting wireless mic users.
Sooo many projects, sooo little time.
