Vezzy Interesting,
At least a decade ago I took in a stray KAHN SSB adapter.
This is the first mention of such in all these years.
That said however the one here must be a civilian unit
based on the model number. I do remember it had nuvistors.
Some with top caps. Remember that was the first time I
had ever seen a nuvistor with a top cap. Anyway unit here is:

KAHN MODEL RSSB-62-1B
Single-Sideband Receiver Adapter
KAHN RESEARCH LABORATORIES, INC.
81 South Bergen Place
Freeport, L.I., New York

Also had a note here that is was set up for a 51J receiver.
It's buried way in the back of the storage area so I couldn't
get back there to take it out and look at it but those were
the numbers I had written down about it in my file. I remember
there was a book/service manual with it so at least some day
when I get it out I'll have the information hopefully I'll need.
Every once in a while KAHN gear shows up down here but most
of the time there is no documentation. This time I was lucky.
Not sure how well any of it worked but it seems quite well built.

Subject: Re: [R-390] Kahn SSB Converter

Hi All,
Very interesting on the comments so far on the Kahn SSB converter. It is
still not clear to me though will the Kahn unit still work as a plain SSB
converter when hooked up to an R-390A? Will it only work with a suppressed
carrier
ISB signal or can it still demodulate a regular LSB or USB signal without
carrier?

Does anyone in the group actually have a working Kahn SSB converter? I have
one I picked up several years ago that is still in the box waiting for a
'rainy day' to hook it up to see if it works at all. In the meantime I have had

no luck finding a manual or much information on it.

Thanks for any further tips or info on the unit.
