Hello everyone,
Thanks for the info on the caps.
I will skip the other caps and replace them as needed.
As I do mostly antique radio replacing all the caps is normal. I don't do much military gear.
I seem to forget that they used better parts than consumer products.
I bet I will have more question later in the game.
Once again thanks.

Tom,
Old large electrolytic caps are known to not like long vacations and are
known to often fail when placed back in service. Whole bunch of pages on the
Internet about feeding and caring for old electrolytic caps.
>From your R392 perspective the only other caps that may cause grief are the
1950 era molded plastic caps. You may want to look through your R392 and see if
it has any of these caps in it. If so you likely should replace them. You
can do a search on R390 and black plastic caps and find some pictures of the
offending items.
The caps just have not withstood the test of time over the last 50 years. If
the receiver has these caps and spent a winter without heat, these caps are
more likely to have failed.
Bad caps in R-392's are not more problematic than in any other receiver of
equal age.
Haveing one cap fail is no reason to start a witch hunt.
