Disk ceramics have been known to absorb water after long periods of 
immersion, and can be leaky afterwards; very few waterproof (coated) 
disk ceramics have been made.  So boatanchors that have been out in 
the rain for extended periods, or in a flood, can have leaky disk 
ceramics.  But I've seen precious few in 40 years of playing with 'tronics.
