Slide rules are STILL the quickest way to do rudimentary comparisons of
means and extremes possibilities. Computers, even the fastest, are not as
fast as a competent person on a slide rule, because once you set it for the
underlying proportion ALL possible answers are as quick as your eye and
brain.
And they require no batteries.
