Hi folks,
I have a nice R-388 for sale that I've been thru recently and have
replaced all questionable parts, incl. all the bathtub caps, the silver
micas in the AVC that often cause problems, re-stuffed the filter cap, added
a new 3-wire line cord, etc. The PTO has been rebuilt, the bypass and
feedback caps replaced, a turn removed from the compensating coil to allow
final accuracy to less than 1kc from end to end, and less than that between
any 2 100kc points. Some HF osc. xtals which were 6-9 kc off freq. were
replaced, there are a couple that are 2-3 kc off still, but the front panel
pointer adjustment brings them in and the 100kc points are of course still
within 1kc as stated above. Nicks, etc. on the front panel have been
touched up with proper matching paint and are barely detectable. It has
the top cover, and a homebrewed but nice bottom cover. It has all tube
shields, and tube hold-downs where applicable.
The price, plus shipping, is $395. Several options are available -- I
will include a brand new Hammond cabinet for an addtional $150 (less than
what I paid), I can install a product detector if desired for an additional
$75. I can deliver this receiver to the Shelby (Dallas) NC hamfest on Labor
Day weekend for no shipping charge, if I am paid in full previously. If
shipping is reqd, I charge just what Fedex (my preference) charges (from zip
28560 for approx 60 lbs), but I will need to add $10 for packing materials
and the time it takes.
I have 2 .pdf files with un-edited pictures, one has 14 pix and is about
8mb large, the other has 8 of the most pertinent pix and is just over 2mb.
I will send either to anyone interested, just tell me which you'd like.
    Any questions? Please ask.
