Jon, If you feed both sides of the receiver input in phase, then you get no 
input signal.
The critter shown is a special test adapter.

If it can be opened up, then it could be rewired inside to make a nice 
adapter.
It would need rework as it is manufactured to serve to couple an antenna into 
a R390 receiver.
