Guys:
I think that Perrier has done us a huge favor by
slaving over the manual to upgrade it. However, Roger
does have a point in that in no way should anything we
do degrade the images or schematics that have been so
laboriously reshot and redrawn. Previous e-mails have
focussed on a uniform computer-generated doument
format (.pdf vs .rtf vs .doc etc. etc.) which misses
the point of accurate and easy to read information
transfer. The original military schematics and images
were typically horrible half-tones, in contrast to
those that came out in the two Y2K publications.
I printed out in its entirety, the latest Y2K manual,
and to be honest, it is the best reference I have (and
I have many *official* references on the shelf). The
older TM's and Navships publications are just fun to
read for historical interest (with the exception of
that pearl from the R-390/URR manual)
Personally, I'd favor a separate addendum as Perrier
mentioned with an intelligently written section of
recent stuff such as all those alinement articles from
Roger that are simple, straightforward, and get the
job done.
My 2¢ for whatever that is worth

I like the idea of an addendum, where
