Hi Mac,
       Could you tell us exactly what are the distinguishing characteristics 
of a genuine Fowler Industries R-390A? I always wondered if those radios were 
completely built from scratch or they must have used some available NOS parts 
perhaps gathered from government depots?  I don't think they would have built 
the PTOs from scratch? Or some of the metalwork?  I would think the RF gearbox 
alone would be beyond the ability of a company like Fowler Industries to make 
from scratch or at least not cost effective?
